Troy Aikins was born March 1, 1915 in English, Texas to Claude and Mary Gray Aikins. He was raised in English, Texas. As a child and growing up in Texas he attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Idabel, Oklahoma. He united in holy matronly with Zanora Gray and between the two of them was born eight children six boys and two girls. Troy joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Albuquerque in 1960 and remained a member until his death on September 26, 2015. Troy will always be remembered for being a sharp dresser, fancy hats, warm smile and he truly loved Shiloh Baptist Church.
Troy became employed at the City of Albuquerque in 1960 where he retired after 25 years of service. Troy enjoyed his job and his home was known to have the best wiener roast of the neighborhood.
He was preceded in death by his wife Zanora, 3 sons Ray, Robert, and Curtis and one daughter Margaret Louise.
He leaves to mourn his three sons: Johnny of Albuquerque, NM; Thumbie (Barbara) of Bellville, Texas; and Phillip of Albuquerque, NM in addition two daughters Dorothy of Denver, Colorado, and Jeanette Titus (Billy) of Clarksville, Texas; (19) grandchildren; (19) great grandchildren; (2) great great children and a host of relatives and friends.
