Simmie D. Gurule, 16, received her Angels' wings on Sunday, October 11, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She was born on October 10, 1999 in Albuquerque, NM to Steven and Roxanne Gurule. A bright and happy girl, she loved spending time with her family, camping, baking, bowling, riding the motorcycle with her "Daddy-o," and cheering for her Colorado Avalanche team. If there was fun to be had, Simmie wanted to be involved. Her smile could light the world! She had attended Chaparral Elementary School, Jimmy Carter Middle School, and had just completed her freshman year at Atrisco Heritage High School. Simmie is survived by her parents, Steven and Roxanne, formerly of Bloomfield and now of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Isaiah, also of Albuquerque; great-grandmother, Virginia Lewellen; grandparents, Angela Gurule, Jose Gurule, Kathy Arfsten and husband, Ron, and Michael Gurule; uncles and aunts: Marlene and Alex Galindo; Norene Gurule, Mindy and Chris Sager, Daniel and Sommer Gurule; and many other family members and friends; and especially her dog, Teddy, her shadow that followed her everywhere. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque.
