Brown, Silas K
Silas "Kent" Brown was born March 9, 1954 in Atoka Oklahoma to the union of Thelma McJunkin Brown and Austin Foster Brown. He attended Atoka High School and graduated in 1970. He married Bernesteine Cobbs Brown on August 10, 1978. To this union one child was born.
Kent was a lifelong auto mechanic. He had a passion for restoring and repairing old vehicles. He had a god given talent where he could listen to a car and tell you what was wrong with it and fix it.
He enjoyed dancing to Motown era music. Some of his favorite groups were The Spinners, Earth Wind and Fire, James Brown, The Temptations, The Ojays, Parliament, and Marvin Gaye.
Kent served his country at an early age becoming members of both the Army and the Navy throughout the 1970's.
Kent was preceded in death by his mother Thelma McJunkin Brown, his father Austin Foster Brown, his brother Merrin Brown, his sister Phyllis Jean Coulten, his brother Alfred Lorenzo Brown, and his sister Juanita Frazier.
Kent is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bernesteine Cobbs Brown of Albuquerque New Mexico, his daughter Ashley Brown of Seattle Washington, his sister Regina Goldsmith of Oklahoma City, his sister Joyce Brown also of Oklahoma City, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
