Sidney Ray Fuller

January 22, 1960 — September 12, 2024

On January 22, 1960, in Browns, AL, a handsome, charming baby boy was born to Lucius and Ethel (Walker) Fuller, which began the meaningful and dynamic journey of Sidney Ray Fuller. Sidney accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Second Zion Hope and New Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, MI, and Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Rio Rancho, NM, for many years. He was educated from elementary through middle school in the Montgomery, AL public school system and Northern High School in Detroit, MI when the Fuller family moved to the city in 1974. Sidney was an avid and prolific athlete, participating in track, baseball, and football. After high school, he attended the University of Toledo on a football scholarship, earning his letter in 1976.

In 1980, Sidney met and married Deborah Renee (Jackson) Fuller. To this union, six children were born, including twins. In the summer of 2007, he moved his family to Rio Rancho, NM, for a better life with more opportunities.

He was devoted to his family and loved them dearly. He enjoyed cooking, baking, singing, improvising jingles, fishing, watching sports (basketball, football, and baseball), playing video games and dominos, the Star Trek franchise (The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, Picard, and Strange New Worlds), the Ten Commandments, making his family laugh and spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lucius and Ethel Fuller, mother-in-law Doris Jackson; brothers Harold Walker and Joseph Fuller; sisters Fannie Fuller, Helen Fuller, Alice Fuller; brother-in-law Bernard Jackson; nieces Fannie Shanita Walker and Felicia Robinson, and nephew Richard Michael Adams.

He leaves to celebrate, cherish, and honor his life: his wife Deborah Fuller; his children, Justin Anderson Fuller (Alejandra), Jason Anthony Fuller (Kandis Wallace-Fuller), Jalin Allen Fuller (Alyssa Grace), Jakia Ari Fuller, Jared Andrew Fuller and Jenae Alexis Fuller (Matthew Valdez); his five grandchildren, Ellana Fuller, Mira Fuller, Jalin Jr. Fuller, Malik Fuller and Maxwell Fuller; sisters, Gwendolyn Robinson (Dana), Gloria Bearce (David), Jennifer Loher (Rick); honorary sister, Lori Maddy (Evan); brothers Edward Fuller (Mary), Roosevelt Walker (Jessie Mae), Lucius Fuller Jr. (Brenda), Christopher Fuller, Jonathan Fuller, sisters-in-law, Valarie Branch (David), Valencia Jackson, Juianuia Jackson, Brenda Fields, Madeleine Fuller; brothers-in-law, Burrell Jr. Jackson, Aaron Jackson (Stephanie), Otis L. Jordan Sr.; aunt Percie Leggett; cousins Arthur Lee Fuller, Alfred Cole, Sheila Cole, Angela Fuller, Jeffrey Fuller; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, special friends, co-workers, and fellow Christians to rejoice in his homegoing.
