Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the recitation of the Rosary at 10:30 AM, followed by the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, Grants, NM. Cora will be laid to rest at Grants Memorial Park. Cora was a dedicated and loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and recently was blessed to be a great-great-grandmother. She dedicated more than 20 years of service to the children of the Cibola Schools. After retiring she continued her community service by volunteering as a Senior Companion for over 15 years. She brought pride and love into her daily volunteer work. Cora was a women of devoted faith and attended St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Grants, NM and St. Vivian's Catholic Church in Milan, NM. She showed her love and compassion to others through her everyday life. Cora believed in friendship and fairness to others. She had a strong commitment to family, friends, and those that she met daily. Cora never knew a stranger. If you visited her home, she always had a warm smile and a cup of coffee waiting for you. She is survived by daughters: Dora Young of Grants, NM, Eleanor DeAguero of Las Cruces, NM, and Marcella DeAguero of Grants, NM; sisters, Pauline Martinez and Esther Espinoza; grandchildren, Daren (Andrea) DeAguero, Adam DeAguero, Sean DeAguero, Jason Serrano, Michelle Serrano, Alex DeAguero, Stacy Chavez, Ashley Chavez, Rylee Chavez, Stephanie Duran, Katelyn Duran, Dwain (Tabitha) Grine, Caylee Grine, and Carissa Grine. Cora is preceded in death by her loving husband, Pedro (Pete) DeAguero; son, Gary Grine; granddaughter, Dana DeAguero; parents, Graciano and Aurelia Cruz; siblings, Aurora Trujillo, Chris Cruz, Lillian Chavez, and Breatrice Garcia; daughter-in-law, Margie Grine; and former son-in-law, James Young. The family would like to thank the dedication that was given through Grants Dialysis Team, Las Cruces Dialysis Team, Dr, Murile, and Dr. De La Vega. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mesilla Valley Hospice of Las Cruces for their end of life care for our loving “Cora." Pallbearers will be Daren DeAguero, Dwain Grine, Henry Chavez, Dan Espinoza, Larry Trujillo, and Frank Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
