Ray Reeder

Ray Reeder died 03-24-2025. Born and reared in Roy, NM, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. B.R. Reeder. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. He is survived by cousins Jimmie Rogers, Ann Green and Agnes Franzak, all of NM and other cousins in CA and OR.

Ray loved God, his church, music, learning and travel. He served with the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Germany from 1953-54. He was a published author and poet. He earned his BA and MA degrees from NM Highlands University and MLS from UC Berkeley. He retired from Cal State East Bay in 1992 after 24 years of service as Music Librarian, and returned to Albuquerque in 1995 where he became a volunteer with various organizations. He was an active member of Monte Vista Christian Church until the time of his death.

Regarding memorials, Ray's comment was "Give generously to worthy causes, but don't wait for me to die to do it." A memorial service will be held at Monte Vista Christian Church on April 12, 2025 at 10am.
