Mitchell Alexander was born August 22, 1952 to Jobe Thomas in Fort Worth Texas. He was then adopted and raised by his Grandparents Iona Alexander and JB Alexander. They moved to Albuquerque in 1959 and he went to school through his graduation at Albuquerque High school.
Mitch played Basketball at Albuquerque High and had many records that still have not been broken. Mitch went on to play Basketball and further his education at Texas Christian University “TCU.” Where he graduated in 1974.
Mitch met the Love of his life in 1971 and began their journey of unending Love. Mitch was a true provider and protector. The last few years he took honor and pride in taking care of his wife of 49 years as she overcame cancer and bone marrow transplant. Their Union included one Son Deaven Alexander which he loved and took him everywhere he went.
Mitchell also worked in the Community from his youth and returned after college. Mitchell was the Community Center Director at Dennis Chavez and later to West Mesa where he mentored many young people and gave many of them their first jobs. Mitchell retired from the City of Albuquerque after 27 years. He went on to work for Tricore where he retired again after 15 years.
Mitch loved Football, Basketball, Fishing and Traveling with family. Mitch was a true Friend to many kept in close contact with his friends from school, his band, and in the community. Mitch never met a stranger and had many friends all around the country.
Mitch leaves to Cherish his memory his Wife Daisy Alexander, his Son Deaven Alexander and wife Reynada, his Beloved Grandsons Javon and Jordan Alexander, and his special Niece’s Wynora Johnson, Tearsha Freeman and Husband Armad, and a host of others.
