Margaret June Fischer, born June 4, 1925 in Buffalo, NY, passed away at age 96 on December 9, 2021 after a long and well-lived life. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ethel Simpson; brother, George “Ray” Simpson; former husband, Allen Fischer; partner, Lawson Young; sons, Kenneth and Donald Fischer, and daughter, Laura Reed. June graduated with a degree in Music Education from The State University of New York at Fredonia and enjoyed a long career as an Elementary School Music Teacher first at Sio Central School in Sio, NY and, after raising her family in Canandaigua, NY, at Canandaigua Elementary School in Canandaigua, NY. June was an accomplished pianist and played regularly at family gatherings and school concerts. She also enjoyed traveling and made many trips to Europe and Asia during her long life. During her years in Canandaigua, she was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church where she was Junior Choir Director. In 1992 she relocated to Brereton, England with her partner Lawson Young, returning to live in Albuquerque, NM in 2006 where she remained until her passing.  June is survived and deeply missed by her son, Dr. Gordon Fischer (Cheryl); son-in-law, Dr. Evangelos Coutsias; daughter-in- law, Wendy Fischer; grandchildren, Dr. Oliver Fischer MD (Lena), Nickolas Fischer (Megan), Sarah Hoyle (James), Timothy Fischer (Virginia), Jamie Sebastian (formerly Vascellaro) (Zach), Lindsy Hoyle (Matt) and great-grandchildren, Charlie Fischer, Anna Fischer, Alania Hoyle, Elsie Hoyle, Penelope Hoyle, Isabel Hoyle, Aidan Hoyle, Rylynn Hoyle, Gavin Vascellaro, Gabe Vascellaro, and Peyton Vascellaro.
