Lois M. Jones, 104, passed away peacefully in her own home on Thursday, July 20, 2017. She was born on October 6, 1912 in Mount Ida, AR, to Lee and Dora (Roland) Kinsey.
Ms. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Jones in 1984; children, Cecil Whatley and Carol Hill; and grandchild, Gayla Threatt. She is survived by three grandchildren: Richard Hill of Albuquerque, NM, Katie Graham of Clovis, NM and Glenna Jones of Odessa, TX; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; four great-great-great-grandchildren and brother, Gene Kinsey of Carlsbad, NM.
Ms. Jones enjoyed canning and cooking with the rewards of her meticulous garden. In her early years, she used her creativity to sew her own clothes, as well as her family's. She was a true homemaker that was deeply devoted to her family.
Ms. Jones will be laid to rest next to her husband at 11:15 A.M. on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
