Linda D. Ward peacefully passed away in her Albuquerque home on January 13, 2021 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Linda (81) was born on November 12, 1939 in Ashland, WI. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jerrold Ward, five children (Donna Filip, Russell Ward, Matthew Ward, Jerri Lynn Spitz, and Andy Ward), 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Albert Ralph Kobernat, mother Dolores Deatherage, sisters Marla Ricker and Connie Cooper, and brother Randall Kobernat.
Linda was the eldest sibling and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1957 where she was a member of the Bulldog Cheerleading Team, Girls State delegate, member of the Honor Society and Debs Tri-Hi-Y. She married Jerrold Ward of Hiram, ME on July 6, 1957. Linda enjoyed family and social gatherings, traveling, playing board and card games, and shopping for that perfect outfit!
Linda's faith was a major cornerstone of her life. She lovingly raised five children and a granddaughter, and diligently taught them the importance of humility, tolerance, patience, faithfulness, and love. The way she lived her life was an inspiration to us all. Linda was known for her kindness, devout faith, and love for her family. She will be eternally missed!
