Lawrence Holmes

Lawrence “Larry” M. Holmes passed to eternal life on May 5th, 2022.

Larry was a devoted father, brother, uncle, church member and friend. Larry was a star in football, basketball, baseball, and track at Albuquerque High and held the long jump record for many years. He started playing baseball in his early years, playing at Shiloh Baptist Church. He continued to play softball into his adult years and loved to play and watch softball, especially with his daughters' teams. Larry loved to fish, learning from his grandparents. He also was an amateur photographer. Larry served in the United States Army and served in South Korea.

Larry was a proponent of education. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Weber State in Idaho, his master's degree for public administration and accounting from the University of New Mexico and he had started on his Doctorate. Larry loved the Lord and served as a Deacon at God’s House Church for many years.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Leroy and Imogene Holmes, his grandparents, James B. and Bernice T. Wright, and his brother Gary Holmes.

He is survived by his daughter Kia Holmes Navarete, his brother Leroy Holmes (Bertha), brother Carey Holmes and sister Darlene Holmes.
