Lance Gordon, 79, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at his home on February 10, 2025.
Born on March 15, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, Lance was the eldest of five children born to Fred and Lena (Foster) Gordon. From a young age, he embodied the values of integrity, dedication, and kindness—qualities that would define his life and the relationships he built.
Lance attended Cathedral High School in Los Angeles before proudly serving in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1969, where he was awarded the Medal of Honor. His commitment to service and honor extended beyond the military, guiding him through his career and personal life. After his service, he pursued higher education at the University of New Mexico, coming just one semester shy of earning his bachelor’s degree before securing a rewarding career at Sandia Laboratories, where he worked proudly with diligence and excellence until retirement.
A man of many passions, Lance was a true music aficionado. He not only collected an impressive array of music across genres but also enjoyed playing various instruments. His love for technology was equally profound—he was an enthusiastic computer and electronics expert, always eager to learn and explore the latest advancements. Above all, he was a man of unwavering integrity, known for his honesty, reliability, and the deep respect he showed to everyone around him.
Lance is survived by his loving daughters, Mamisi Gordon Allen and Shannon Gordon; his brothers, Kelsey and Carol, along with their spouses; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sherry Gordon and his Sister Colette Gordon.
Lance’s legacy of integrity, dedication, and love for his family will forever be cherished. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him
