Kenneth Monk was born on June 23, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri to Venoil “Pete” and Clemontine Monk. He was the fifth of seven siblings. Kenneth graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1972. Kenneth’s love for music led him to become a radio disc jockey where he enjoyed the independence and variety. This led him into entrepreneurship as “The Sprinkler Man” doing residential irrigation alongside his son. Kenneth had a heart for animals and lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Kenneth was known to befriend the homeless and other marginalized individuals, always wanting to help where he was able. He attended services at Faith Temple Church of God and Christ.
Kenneth departed this life on January 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by this father, mother, and siblings Patricia Beckwith, Billie Jean White, and Harvey Monk. He is survived by his children Letitia and Nathan;  grandchildren, Jazz, Jessy, Micaiah, Sullivan (fka Salome), Malik, and Layla; and great-grandchild, Nia. He is also remembered by his sisters Marylyn Whitley-Kingyon, Sandra Monk, and Marsha Monk; bonus grandchildren Lavontrae, Johlil, and Aaliyah; and a bounty of nieces and nephews.
