Perea, Joseph Leo

Age 58, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on November 6 ,1959 to Joseph and Pauline Perea. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Theresa. Daughters Nicole (Santi) and Erica (Lukas). Siblings Danny, Terry (Tim), Paula (Jerome), Renee (Stuart). As well as his six grandchildren, Savanah, Bre, Jr, JJ, Leo and Luca.

Joe was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, cousin and friend to all. Joe was a Navy veteran and served as a mail handler at the United States Postal Service for 33 years.

He was an avid Raider, Laker and Dodger fan. His greatest joys were his beautiful wife, children and grandchildren. During his spare time he loved working on his yard and listening to ESPN Radio and his oldies music.

He will be loved and missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dear Lord, I’m just a sailor

A protector of our land.

A servant called to battle

When my country takes a stand.

A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Strong-Thorne Funeral Home 1100 Coal Ave SE Albuquerque, NM 87106.

A Rosary will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 8:15 am at St. Josephs on the Rio Grande 5901 St Josephs Dr. NW Albuquerque, NM 87120 with mass to follow at 9:00 am.

The burial will immediately proceed after mass at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102 with a reception following at the Moose Lodge 2121 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
