It is with great sadness that we announce my mother’s first-born son and our brother, Joseph “Teddy” Hood has been called to eternal rest after a long battle with cancer.
Teddy was a “die-hard” Steelers fan (and undercover Cowboys fan) and loved playing dominos. In his younger days he enjoyed shooting dice earning him the nickname “Lucky Duck”.
Teddy is predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Criselda Woods, father William “Bill” Hood, brothers Simon Dean Hood, William Hood Jr. and Richard “Ricky” Hood, first-born son Terrance Byrd, nephew Simon Louis James Hood and of course his “ride or die” dog, Rosco.
He leaves behind to celebrate his life, his mother, Mary Sanders, special aunt Ethel (Sam) Perry, siblings Valerie (Harry) Kane, Cheryl “Cha-Cha” Williams, Ernest “Hub” Hood, Cynthia “Cindy” Hood, Opal Cook, and Sederick “Hito” Hood. He also leaves three daughters and a son along with grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Teddy lived his life on his terms. Prior to passing, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
