Joseph (Joe) Locario Griego was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2023 at the age of 43. He was born on June 30, 1980 to Locario (Luckie) and Bernadette Griego in Albuquerque, NM. He was the beloved father of Angelina and Joseph Jr. He was the oldest of four children, Carlos Griego, Jasenta Griego, and Jacob Huff. He is survived by grandmothers Vivian Griego, Virginia Vigil, his children, siblings, countless uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins who all had a special place in his heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, Locario and Bernadette Griego, grandfathers Armando Griego and Richard Lujan, Uncles Billy (Steve) Griego, Ivan Lujan, Andy Lujan, and Fabian Lujan.
Joe grew up in Albuquerque, NM and was proud of where he came from. Joe was a quiet man who kept to himself but he had many friends and embraced the role of big brother. He loved them all as family and was someone they all looked up to. Joe loved his family unconditionally and followed his uncle's with the mutual joy of working on cars. He had a special love for old cars. His '64 Impala was his prized possession.
Joe was also very talented and had a love for music and dancing. He was an excellent break dancer. He was also an amazing boxer without any training. Another one of his many talents was guitar; one day he picked up a guitar and just started playing without practice or knowledge of how to play or read music. He had one of the most contagious laughs and was such a joy to be around.
Joe graduated from Manzano High School with a 4.0 grade point average. He lettered in academics and was offered an academic scholarship. Joe was a dedicated, hard worker. He took pride in what he did. He was employed at Budget Movers for 12 years and then went to TLC plumbing for ten years. During that time he obtained his Journeyman plumber's license and gas fitting license. He then moved to Bosque Heating and Cooling where he was proud to be a part of helping his brother kick off his business. Though he had these many accomplishments, his greatest and most rewarding accomplishment was being a father. He claimed that title proudly. Joe will be extremely missed by everyone that he encountered.
