He was born in Mexico in 1944 to Gumesindo and Juana Najar and grew up with 10 brothers and sisters: Crisensiana, Faustino, Vicente, Roberta, Anastacia, Soccorro, Norberta, Angel, Juan, and Aurea. Currently, only four of them are still alive. They all had a ranch living childhood.
Jose Najar met the love of his life, Julia Najar while living in Long Beach, California. Julia had a son named Michael whom Jose loved as his own. In 1972, the two were married and started their new lives together. Later on, their son married Kathy and they had two wonderful granddaughters named Rosi and Lily.
Jose spent 24 years working in Marina del Rey. However, his favorite role was being a grandparent. He cherished his time with his granddaughters (whom he referred to as "his ladies") and adored being their Papa. Jose was always there for his family as a great father figure, father-in-law, godparent, and grandparent.
Jose will always be remembered for his love for all of his family and friends. His sarcastic words and infectious laughter will forever be imprinted in our minds. We will always imagine hearing him say "sweetie I'm home" one more time. We couldn't have asked for a better father, godfather, brother uncle Papa or spouse than Jose Najar. We will miss him dearly every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
