On November 28, 1941, in Longview Texas, a true OG and Die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan was born, Joe Lee Butler, to Joe Willie Butler and Josephine Jackson. Joe Lee was the oldest of six children and spent his time between Lamesa TX and Albuquerque New Mexico where he had a lot of people who knew him. In 1990, Joe Lee decided to make Albuquerque his home to be close to his mom and siblings. Joe Lee was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.

Joe Lee was called home to be with Our Lord on October 28, 2024. He is preceded in death by his parents Joe Willie Butler and Josephine Jackson, Big Mama (Grandmother) Louella Roseberry (step-father Hollis Roseberry), Brother: James Lee Jackson and Sister: Martha Ann Grier (husband Henry Grier Sr.), Uncle: Clarence Callaway, Aunt: Katherine Alexander, Cousin: Ima Jean “Mae” Martindale. Those left with cherished loving memories: The Love of his life: Etta Butler (Bailey), Sons: Alvin “Petey” Bailey (wife: Shelia), Joe Lee Butler Jr.; Daughters: Tammy Jackson (Brent), Bonnie Jackson, Lisa Edwards, and Cookie Maxwell. 22 Grandchildren and 20 Great-grandchildren; Sisters: Mary Ann Jackson, Mary Elizabeth Jackson. Brother: Feldon Jackson Jr. Niece: Jazmine Booth, Nephews: Henry Grier Jr. Tommy Grier, Dalaney Jackson, Jayme Jackson, Jaxon Booth. Uncle: Richard Callaway, Aunt: Annie Pearl Stevens. A host of 1st and 2nd Cousins, Great-Nieces and Nephews, Church family, and Friends.
