James overcame some physical difficulties and made adjustments at an early age. He always had an infectious laugh and smile as a child that lasted throughout his lifetime. He had a gifted imagination and a LOVE of sports, often making his family crazy with humming of the Michigan Fight song constantly. He would give you the shirt off his back and help many that crossed his path. He had a diverse education, public and private, and had a mind that was constantly working out solutions. He had a talent for being able to tell you at any time, any date, time, or day, what you were wearing and what the conversation was about no matter how much time had elapsed. Once you crossed his path he never forgot you. He was an avid learner who read books like “The Art of War”, watched the old school History Channel, and played games like Axis and Allies. He found joy working for ARCA group home, and assisting people with special needs and experiencing homelessness. He was known for informally adopting people within and outside his biological family, as well as dogs.

James was the first son of four children, and the apple of his Mother’s eye. He had interesting experiences early on as his parents moved to many cities for their public service careers. He always considered Albuquerque his hometown. He was a follower of Christ in many forms; he was raised in the Catholic church and later converted to The Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended other Christian churches. He married Deborah Marler in 1988 and had 3 children. The unexpected and tragic death of his son Jesse, as a toddler, changed the trajectory of his life. He pursued many business interest and found success in insurance and sales. Later in life he had a variety of health challenges, yet he kept rising from the flames with persistence. Challenges that would have put a lesser man down for the count. He had a great love for his children, gave them all his time and always wanted to be a Dad. He had a big Heart. He had a LOVE for sports, ALL SPORTS, ALL SEASONS, and even supported coaching and managing for the Lobos and the Scorpions. Growing up he adored his older sister and she him. He was closest to his younger brother, Jason.

He is preceded in death by his father, James G. Bradley; son, Jesse Gerald Bradley; and most recently, his mother Lela M. Bradley. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Bradley; his children, Mandisa Routheni (son-in-law Ahdohny) and James G. Bradley III; grandchildren Ahdani, Kijani and Baby Girl Routheni; sister Wyetta Bradley, brother Jason Bradley (sister-in-law Anne), sister Candace Bradley-McDonald (brother-in-law Steve); and many nephews and nieces.
