Smith, Inell
Age 78, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017. She was born on Sunday, December 17, 1939 in Calhoun, County, MS to the late Willie and Lucille Shackford.
She left Mississippi at a young age and moved to Chicago, IL for a better life. In 2002, she and her late husband moved to Albuquerque, NM to retire.
Inell, better known as "Lucky", was a loving and caring Christian woman who always put God first. She was a cook for over 50 years. She never had recipes but she always stated that her food was made out of love.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: 3 sons-Otis, Ricky and Tyrone. Two daughters-Delores and Tawanda (DJ). Fourteen grandkids-Crystal, Cameo, Antoine, Serina, Terri, Tashelle, Lamonte, Brandon, Lamarr, Shevante, Robyn, Kionte, Kyreecus and Malcolm. Twenty-Two great grandkids with Tanadshia being the eldest and Lydia being the youngest. Two great-great grandchildren, three sisters, two brothers and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her Mom and Dad-Lucille and Willie, her husbands-Arlandus and Calvin, her daughter-Jimmie Nell and Son-Adan, Sisters-Maggie Nell, Mary Jane and brother-Sonny.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM at Strong-Thorne Funeral Home at 1100 Coal Ave. SE. She will be laid to rest on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:15 AM at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
