Herlinda Vigil

Herlinda A. Vigil, 88, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 with her loving family by her side. A woman of deep faith who will be remembered for her generosity and sense of humor, she will be missed by her many family members and friends whose lives were touched by her beauty. She was born on October 27, 1928 to Onesimo and Isabel (Quijas) Acosta in Sugar City, Idaho. A resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1969, she devoted her life to her family and church. She was active in several Rio Grande Seventh-day Adventist Church Bible study and prayer groups. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, gardening, traveling, and helping others. You could not visit her home without being fed a meal. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Flavio R. Vigil; brother, Francisco Acosta; and sister, Concepcion Carrillo. Mrs. Vigil is survived by her children: Dag Lopez and wife, Martha, of Rio Rancho, NM, Rose Flores and husband, Abel, of Tijeras, NM, Elizabeth Venegas of Albuquerque, NM, and Romelia Esparza and husband, Miguel, of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Cid Lopez, Joshua Lopez, Linda Flores, Alicia Swoboda, Jacqueline Flores, Sarah Simpkins, Jose Esparza, and Monica Garcia; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members. Viewing and Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until the start of the Funeral Service at 7:00 PM on Monday, November 21, 2016 at Rio Grande Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5200 Iliff Road NW, Albuquerque, NM. The Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Park, Albuquerque. Pallbearers will be Cid Lopez, Joshua Lopez, Nicholas Flores, Jose Esparza, Dale Simpkins and Miguel Esparza. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carlos Acosta, Marcelino G.
