Gloria Behar passed away peacefully on April 24, 2016. In 1926, she was born in Poland and, as a young girl, immigrated to New York City through Ellis Island. In 1943, Gloria married Albert Behar. During WWII, she supported the US military by working in the business office. She and her husband were business owners, owning a children's clothing store in NY and sewing machine stores in both Florida and NM. After living in New York and Miami Beach, they moved to Albuquerque in 1975 to be closer to family. Gloria was a loving wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She spent many years as an active member of Temple B'nai Israel and its sisterhood; B'nai B'rith and Hadassah. She is survived by her brother, Rabbi Israel Orenstein; daughter, Diane Behar; son, Samuel Behar and wife, Judy; grandchildren, Marissa Sanchez and husband Isaac Sanchez, Justin Behar and wife Leanne Komorowski; and three great grandchildren, Savanah Sanchez, Deacon Sanchez and Brooklyn Sanchez.
