Gaston Armand DeVigne – our beloved son and brother- had a loving heart, a quick, brilliant mind, and a joyous spirit that simply filled a room. Gaston Armand was eagerly welcomed into a large and extended, loving family in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 2, 1986.
Armand as he was called in his early years, was inquisitive from the start - interested in chess, board games, video games, tangrams, and anything mathematical. Armand was very athletic and he enjoyed basketball, but his true love was Isshin Ryu Karate where he earned his black belt and successfully competed in quite a few competitions. Summers brought the opportunity to attend camp and later become a camp counselor.
Learning and education came easy for Armand, and so he excelled at Albuquerque Academy and was then thrilled to embrace college life at Olin Business School at Washington University in Saint Louis, where he completed both his undergrad studies and his Master of Science in Finance within 4 years, on a full academic scholarship. Gaston Armand had a strong work ethic and appreciated a mental challenge, so he was a good fit for an internship at Yahoo, and later joined the Facebook family. He retired from Facebook when the company went public. Gaston then returned home to New Mexico, buying a home in Placitas where he hiked and joyfully interacted with neighbors. In retirement, Gaston turned to investments and as an independent consultant.
Gaston Armand leaves a humongous hole in the hearts of his parents, Gaston and Vicki DeVigne, his beloved sister, Joelle DeVigne, and his best friend/cousin, Tommy Jewell along with a plethora of family and honorary aunts and uncles, cousins, his paternal grandfather, Gaston DeVigne III, along with families, friends, and communities across the United States.
Gaston was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents Gaston and Yvonne DeVigne along with his grandmother, Alda Santos DeVigne and uncle, Roburt Dumas. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary Juzang and William J Juzang.
Gaston Armand was blessed and richly loved. He will be truly missed. A private memorial has been held.
