David Rayford

March 14, 1992 — August 9, 2024

David Francis Earl Rayford, a husband, father, son, nephew, cousin, and friend to many was called home by his heavenly Father. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Reverend Dr. Frank and Mrs. Josephine Cates, and Mrs. Everlenar Rayford. David was born March 14, 1992, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Maria Cates Quarterman (Earl) and Danny E. Rayford, Sr. (Joyce). He was Gloria’s husband and Venice’s daddy.

David accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and grew up diligently in the church. He was a faithful Sunday School student and served on the youth usher board, and drill team at his home church, Mount Zion Baptist Church. He was a young creative man with an entrepreneurial business everywhere he went. David could always be found making money to get ready to attend the National Sunday School Congress that he attended as a youngster growing up. His first take on entrepreneurship was making pipe people, bringing the products to church, and selling them to the members. He ventured into making earrings that his mom showed him how to make from old buttons, once again, bringing the product to the church and selling it. He had a passion for painting art on tee shirts and selling his work. He loved to eat and be happy. His favorite sandwich was the foot-long meatball sub sandwich from Subway.

On August 09, 2024 God’s gentle voice spoke to David and said, I see you’re not fully able to care for yourself, so I am fulfilling my promise to you this day. Come, my child, rest in my arms and be at peace. You’ll have no sorrow, loneliness, or pain with me. Come and take your eternal rest.

Mr. Rayford leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Gloria Quezada-Castro Rayford, daughter, Venice Jane Rayford, his parents Maria Cates Quarterman (Earl), Danny E. Rayford, Sr. (Joyce), brother, Danny E. Rayford, Jr., and a host of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of friends.
