Daniel Paul Nez

I had a great life, I had the love of a great woman, and I loved, that’s all that matters” D. Nez.  Daniel Paul Nez, beloved Husband, Dad, Papa, and Great Papa, passed on from this life on January 13, 2023.  Dan was born in September 1943 to Sidney Nez Sr and Nila Nez.  He was a member of Netherwood Park Church of Christ.  Dan proudly served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam Conflict.  He is preceded in death by his son Darnell Nez; grandsons Michael Manuelito Jr and James T. Moore; his parents, and siblings Louise, Clara, Wilfred, James, and Angie.  Dan is survived by his most cherished wife of 53 years Veronica Nez; his pride and joys (daughter) Maureen and husband Michael Manuelito; (daughter) Deanna and husband James B. Moore; (son) Jerald Nez and Lita Foster; (daughter) Dedra Kinsey; (daughter) Daniela Rios; (son) Wilfred and wife Clancey Nez.  His treasured (partners in crime) grandchildren Michaelina, Kathryn, Maurice, Kwantell, Jacob, Michelle, Jennifer, Tamia, Jasmine, Ayanna, and Zoe; his precious great-grandsons Duane and Maurice Jr.; his loved siblings Sidney Jr, Philip, and Theresa. 

Visitation (9:30-10:30 am) and service (11 am) will be held at Netherwood Park Church of Christ, 5101 Indian School Rd, Albuquerque NM, on January 23, 2023.  He will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery for a private burial.  Prior to his death, Dan requested in lieu of flowers, new unopened packaged socks (men’s or women’s) to be donated to the New Mexico VA Homeless Veterans Clothing Closet.
