Curtis Morgan, 85, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 with his loving family by his side. He was born on July 8, 1932 in Gallup, NM to Joe and Bah Morgan.
Mr. Morgan proudly served in the US Army. He was a baker who took great pride in his work. Mr. Morgan was a longtime member of Apache Avenue Church of the Nazarene in Albuquerque, NM. He faithfully served the Lord and helped lead many people to Christ. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending time with each of them.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alberta E. Morgan, of Albuquerque, NM; children, Laverne Wilson and husband, Jose Vasquez, of Albuquerque, NM, Lora Church and husband, Casey, of Albuquerque, NM; Becky Pohawpatchoko and husband, Kerwin, of Vernal, UT, and David E. Morgan of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; one sister; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Viewing will be held at 9:00 A.M. with the funeral service to begin at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Strong-Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave SE, Albuquerque. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fairview Memorial Park.
As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to Apache Avenue Church of the Nazarene to purchase Navajo songbooks and Bibles.
A Celebration of Life Service will be set in the near future.
