Carol Ruth Chapin 1935-2022
Carol Ruth Chapin was born on July 29, 1935 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Her parents were Leroy and June Giles. Carol married Charles Chapin on June 11, 1958. They were married for 63 years and lived in Socorro and Albuquerque. They loved to travel and enjoy the great outdoors.
Carol had a Master’s in Counseling. Her many roles include working as an Indian Health nurse at Alamo reservation. This was such a joy for her and spoke fondly of her time there. Carol also worked for OMI in Albuquerque. She was a wonderful person who cared for many during her counseling/nursing/health career. Her career involved travel opportunities including a nursing event in Kenya and in Mexico.
Carol passed away on January 15, 2022 after a valiant fight with Alzheimer’s. Carol is survived by her husband Charles and her three children: Giles, John, and Laura Chapin. She has nine grandchildren. She will be missed terribly by all. Carol life was full of love for her family and friends. She was the kindest, most giving person we know and we all love and miss her.
