Carl F. Moore, Jr passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025 surrounded by family. Carl was born to Carl F. Moore, Sr. and Fontella Bryant on February 7,1929 in Clovis, NM. Growing up in eastern NM, Carl longed to serve his country and in 1948 he joined the United States Navy. He was on board the USS Valley Forge with squadron VF54 when hostilities began with North Korea. On leave from his first cruise, he married Alice Pauline Ridings of Portales, NM on December 25, 1950. He returned for a second cruise on the USS Essex, again deployed to assist in the Korean conflict. Carl graduated from Pharmacy School at the University of New Mexico and in 1962 he purchased the Hilton Pharmacy in Socorro, NM. Carl ran the Hilton with his father Carl, Sr. until 1981. Throughout the years, Carl was heavily involved in the aviation community. His main interest was in remote control model airplanes, starting Socorro's first model airplane club, the Socorro Chile Proppers. He was well known for organizing pancake breakfasts with the Socorro Lions Club, Masonic Lodge and other organizations in Socorro. Carl was preceeded in death by his loving wife Pauline and his son Paul and is survived by his daughter Karla and his son Michael, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Carl and family would like to express sincere gratitude to his nephew Robert for being his companion and care giver the past few years. In lieu of flowers Carl would prefer a donation to the New Mexico Boy's and Girl's Ranch. Carl wishes all of you many happy landings.
