Bernadette DeVargas

September 4, 1977 — December 29, 2024

Albuquerque

Bernadette C. DeVargas, 47, of Albuquerque, NM, gained her wings on December 29, 2024. Born on September 4, 1977, Bernadette was known for her heart like no other, always putting others' needs above her own.

She is survived by her loving children Luciano, Dominique, Anthony, and Selena DeVargas, and Rose Lopez; her cherished grandchildren Sophia and Nayeli Llaguno, and Anthony Jr. DeVargas; her siblings, brothers Raymond and wife Clorinda Armijo, Abelito and Samuel DeVargas, and sister Katherine DeVargas. Bernadette was predeceased by her beloved parents. First her father, Freddie DeVargas and then in more recent years her mother Sally DeVargas and her brother Issaac Candelaria.

Bernadette could make friends with anyone and everyone. She always had something to talk about, creating connections wherever she went. Despite facing hardships growing up and the profound pain of losing her son Manuelito Lopez, she remained strong and resilient. Her warmth and generosity touched many lives.

A woman of many talents, Bernadette was passionate about crafting. From diamond art to crochet, coloring, scrapbooking, and painting, she was always creating something beautiful.

Bernadette's legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

When I am gone release me, let me go. I  have so many things to see and do. You

mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears, Be happy that we had so many years. I gave

you my love, you can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for

the love you each have shown, But now it’s time I traveled on alone. So grieve a while

for me, if grieve you must, Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It’s only for a

little while that we must part. So bless the  memories within your heart. I won’t be far

away, for life goes on. So if you need me,  call and I will come. Though you can’t see or

touch me, I’ll be near. And if you listen with  your heart, you’ll hear all of my love around

you soft and clear. And then, when you  must come this way alone, I’ll greet you

with a smile and welcome you home.
