Apostle Barbara Angela Gould, born to mother Joyce B. Gould and to father Edgar C. Jones, also known as Barbara Gould, and to some, Cherry, passed away on June 27, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM, at the age of 81. She was born on April 14, 1942 in Kingston, Jamaica. Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, grandaunt, cousin, mentor, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Barbara's presence was truly remarkable. She had a profound connection with God, and being around her made you feel His presence. She had a loving and nurturing spirit that touched the lives of many. Barbara's children and all those she impacted are grateful for her Godly influence and the legacy she leaves behind. Barbara is survived by her brother, Kortni Jones, her sister, Jacqueline Jones, her son, Neville Donna-Hugh Constantine Baker (Lemuel), her daughter, Judith Gould Kearney and son-in-law, Charles Kearney, as well as her daughter Tonya (Lisa) Okon Johnson and son-in-law, Waverly Johnson. She is survived by her grandsons: Joshua Okon, Jeremiah Okon, and Thaddius Kearney, her granddaughters, Deborah Jane Baker, Abigail Baker, and Carrie Fleming, her niece Grace-Ann Jones, her nephews John-Francis Jones, and Anthony (Peter-Jon) Flowers, and her grand-nephew, Sean-Tavion Jones. She is also survived by her loving extended families in Jamaica and New York, and family friends (both spiritual and natural) in the United States and all over the world. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce B. Gould, her father, Edgar C. Jones, and her grandson, Jonathan Okon. Barbara's passion and pursuit was Christ. Everything in her life emanated from that center, to include her love of singing, preaching, traveling, and sharing the love of God with her family and others. Barbara possessed a talent and drive for writing, and she is the author of two books, “Greater Glory”, and “A House Divided Cannot Stand.” Barbara is also the author of a 2013 copyrighted anthem, powerfully titled, “Nation of God Arise.” Barbara attended high school at Alpha Academy in Kingston, Jamaica. She later pursued higher education at Queens College, New York, and completed her ministerial training at Rhema Bible Training College. Barbara served in an administrative capacity for many years providing corporate-level support to various organizations. Barbara dedicated herself to serving wherever God planted her, both in the corporate world and in ministry. Barbara taught and led the children’s ministry, youth ministry, children’s, youth, and adult choirs and served on the church board. She was developed in ministry through her service to Leverich Memorial Church, NY, Bethlehem Missionary Church, NY, and Evangel Christian Center, NM. After completing her studies at Rhema Bible Training College, the Lord gave her the vision and mission of Emmanuel Ministries International and the Love Centers. God gave her a mandate that as He sent her, she was never to leave His sheep without a shepherd. Since receiving that mandate, Apostle had the honor of mentoring & partnering with pastors in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Jemez, Carlsbad, Florida, Kenya, Barbados, Jamaica, Nigeria, and England.
