Alfonso Thompson Jr., fondly known as "Diddy", passed away on July 23, 2023, in Albuquerque. Born on September 7, 2001, in Albuquerque, Diddy lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and deep connections with his loved ones.
Diddy was an exceptional individual who touched the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He possessed a remarkable sense of humor that brought cheer to those around him. His infectious smile could light up any room and his outgoing nature allowed him to effortlessly forge lasting friendships.
Diddy's loyalty was unparalleled, and his reliability made him a dependable presence for those who needed him. He had a heart the size of the universe, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. This immense kindness and compassion endeared him to his entire family and all his friends.
Education held great importance in Diddy's life. He completed his high school education and was pursuing his dreams at an EMS academy. Alongside academics, Diddy showcased his athleticism by participating in wrestling and playing high school football.
When he wasn't pursuing his educational endeavors or engaging in athletic pursuits, Diddy found solace in various hobbies and interests. He had an ear for music and enjoyed listening to it. Spending quality time with family brought him immense joy, as did hanging out with friends. Fishing allowed Diddy to connect with nature, while playing video games provided him with a source of entertainment. His love for cooking ignited aspirations of becoming a chef while reading books and watching movies added color to his world.
Diddy is survived by cherished family members and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts. He is mourned by his parents: Mother Nicole Clark; Father Alfonso Thompson Sr.; Stepdad Reginald Clark. Diddy's grandparents include Grandmother Sherry Willingham; Grandfather Robert Beal Sr.; Denise McDougall; Howard Dixon. His great grandparents Jessie and Margaret Burdex will also forever cherish his memory.
Hope Garcia, Diddy's fiancée, shared a profound connection with him and stood as a pillar of support throughout their journey together. Diddy's passing leaves a void that will be felt deeply by Hope.
Siblings played an integral role in Diddy's life. He is survived by his brothers: Ladaimian, Blaise, Ta'maruan, Lil Reggie, Pasheyon, Tray, Jamar, Reginald VI, Kamron, Reginald Rosser, Reginald Jr. Case, Reginald IV, Deangelo, Geno, and Josiah. Diddy's sisters Precious, R'Jhanise, Artaxerxes, Lashanna, Zakiya, Kamiko, Tatyana, Maleah, and Mikayla were sources of love and companionship throughout his life.
In addition to his immediate family members mentioned above, Diddy shared close bonds with his aunties: Alexis, Mary Jean, Anita Shemeka, Yolanda, Lasundria, Nigeria, Bonita, Valerie, Ruth, and NeNe. His uncles Robert Beal Jr., Anthony, Jedrick, Timothy Clark, Jazzy, Timothy Burdex, Jessie, and Chris also held significant places in his heart.
Diddy's cousins Kishada, Jeffery, Angelo, Torrance, Tasha, Kiana, Nakita, Alex, John, Timmy, NayNay, Aquavious, Brooklyn, Rastice, Jayshawn, Amil, Robbie, Nia, Tyshawn, Torrance Jr., and TeTe were special to him and contributed to the cherished memories he created throughout his lifetime.
Diddy was preceded in death by his sister Tremisha Thompson, Grandfather Tommy Thompson and grandmother Mary Alice Ward. Her absence was deeply felt during his time on earth.
A series of events have been planned to commemorate the life of Alfonso Thompson Jr. A viewing will be held on August 8, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Strong Thorne Mortuary in Albuquerque. This solemn occasion provides an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects and bid farewell to their beloved Diddy.
Following the viewing, a funeral service will take place at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The service will reflect on Diddy's remarkable life, celebrating his vibrant spirit and the positive impact he had on those around him.
Embracing Diddy's wishes, a burial ceremony will be held on August 8, 2023, at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. The ceremony will commence at 12:30 PM and conclude at 1:30 PM, where Diddy will find eternal peace.
