Albert Pete Lucero, Jr., 63, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 3, 2017. He was born on November 27, 1953 to Albert and Isidorita (Marquez) Lucero, Sr. of Corrales, NM. He worked many years in Maintenance with the City of Rio Rancho's Parks & Recreation Division. He enjoyed spending his time at the family's ranch in Cabezon, NM. It was his life. He was a perfectionist and it can be seen in his immaculate yards at the home and ranch. In his early years, he enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing. Ten years ago he was given the gift of life by receiving a heart transplant.
Albert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Esther (Saiz) Lucero of Corrales, NM; children, Erica Upton of Las Cruces, NM, Albert Lucero, III., of Albuquerque, NM, April Mendoza and her husband, Abel, of Rio Rancho, NM, and Kimberly Lucero of Albuquerque, NM; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Viola Lucero-Torres and her husband, Tony, Doris Wiggins and her husband, Nick, and Sarah Jean Lucero; aunts, Marcella Garcia, Kathryn Paroline; uncle, Ostacio Lucero; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and other family members who mourn his passing.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Calvary Chapel - Rio Rancho.
